Spooky Tales of Hauntings, Pirates, Wars, and More

Is the Holy City haunted? According to some, it’s one of the most haunted cities in America.
Charleston’s forts, ships, and antebellum homes are the centerpiece of the South’s most famous ghost stories and many of these sites cannot be reached on foot. On the Sandlapper Ghost Tour, you will learn of lost fortunes, ships ravaged by storms, pirates who still haunt their conquests, and a headmistress who guards the grounds where she once lived.

The City of Charleston was the gem of the fledgling American colonies and a key target for plundering pirates. Descending into fear each time the “Jolly Roger” was seen flying at the mouth of the harbor, frightened Charlestonias were forced to confront their pirate tormentors with murderous results. Our expert guides will regale you with tales of Blackbeard, Captain Stede Bonnet, Charles Vain, Calico Jack Rachem, and Anne Bonney, the first infamous female pirate.

Come aboard for a spine-chilling experience as we tour the Charleston harbor to view some of the city’s most haunted sites, hear stories of local ghost lore, and learn about the deep-rooted superstitions of Charleston’s Gullah culture. You will never see Charleston the same way again!

Gotta add this to your vacation

“Last day of vacation and wanted one more good memory to take away from Charleston. Food had been awesome, beach house was awesome, so search internet for things to do in Charleston and found Sandlapper’s Charleston Ghost Tour. Didn’t want a dissappointment so called the realty office and they knew capatain collins and said we couldn’t go wrong with any of his tours. Was she ever right! We learned about charleston ghosts and pirates from many legends and tales. The storytelling was 1st class. So glad we booked the trip and took the time to do this.”

LOADS OF FUN

“My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening cruise, even though the weather had turned nippy. Ed was a wonderful storyteller and expert Charleston ghost historian. He is genuinely entertaining and everyone on board was relaxed and congenial. I would definitely do this one again and recommend highly for any tourist to this lovely and fascinating city.”

Great Evening Tour of the Harbor

“Enjoyed the Charleston ghost tour of the Charleston harbor at night. It was a beautiful evening with a full moon. Nice close up of Battery St. and the Ravenel Bridge. The ghost tour was good I guess, if you enjoy that stuff, I am not much of a fan. My husband really enjoyed it and talked about it a lot afterwards.”
