1) Beach Ecology Program: Enroute to uninhabited barrier island, the Charleston Waterfront and Battery are seen and a crab pot is pulled with contents viewed in onboard touch tank. All partake in beach ecology walk/talk on Morris Island with the Naturalist. The list of objectives for this program are specific to the grade level of the students participating in the program. 2) Salt Marsh Ecology Program: Enroute to a very pristine salt marsh creek, a crab pot is pulled and contents are viewed. While in the salt marsh creek we'll cast a net and review its contents as the Naturalist teaches about the salt marsh ecology. The list of objectives for this program are specific to the grade level of the students participating in the program. ![]() We also offer a Combo History - Nature Program. This is a 3 hour Program which combines the History Program and the Beach Ecology Nature Program. The students are joined by the Licensed History Guide and Naturalist. This Private Program can take place at any time of the day. It will accommodate 49 people max. We also can arrange a full day for your students' outing and can run three to four trips a day with each lasting 1-2 hrs enabling us to accommodate student groups of 150-200. In addition, we open our daily scheduled public History Tours and daily scheduled public nature Tours to the students at a discounted rate. Sandlapper Tours is located at the Charleston Maritime Center, approximately 1/2 block south of the SC Aquarium in downtown Charleston. We offer free parking for cars and Busses.
