Charleston Historic Tours - An Historic Charleston AdventureThese are a one-of-a-kind Charleston historic tours and includes historic Charleston harbor tours. Join our local historian as he unveils Charleston's rich heritage and colorful maritime history. Each tour may include different facts based on the tour's route and sites seen along the way. Our historian's talk spans the historical inception of Charleston and its harbor to present-day times and events. Topics include The American Revolutionary and Civil War battles, the various batteries, Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie, pirates' tales, shipwrecks, the Plantation era, and the raising of the Hunley. Sites to be seen include the forts, historically significant buildings, landmarks, and churches. You can take our boat ride out to Fort Sumter and during the journey, you will not only see fabulous homes, but also dolphins in the harbor. Additionally, you'll pass by the Battery, where in 1861, Gen. Beauregard observed as the first shot was fired in the Civil War. You will also visit the island where the Confederate soldiers held out for 27 months before finally surrendering.
